SEAS Morris conducts sailing in two locations, convenient to Northern and Central New Jersey!
Our inland water location is Budd Lake, New Jersey.
Budd Lake, in Mt Olive, NJ is one of the top sailing spots in Northern NJ. Located off of I-80, along Route 46, the lake offers access to some of the best sailing in New Jersey. Other activities that can be enjoyed at Budd Lake include fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and relaxing on the beach.
The lake measures just under one square mile and ranges from 7-12 feet deep. Due to the often shifty nature of the winds this lake offers a great venue for instruction to beginners, as well as providing some excitement and challenges to more experienced sailors.
Parking, and Facilities:
• There is a parking lot located near the beach on the Southwest corner of the lake.
Please Note: In 2026, Mt. Olive is preparing a substantial upgrade and renovation of the Budd Lake beach and facilities, to create an amazing recreational area. During the upgrade process there may be some limitations to beach access. Stay tuned on this site and through Member email and Newsletter updates.
Directions:
From Route 80 – Take exit 26 to merge onto Route 46 West toward Budd Lake/Hackettstown. Proceed 2.2. The lake is on your right. SEAS is located on Budd Lake Beach.
2. Our coastal water location is at Browns Point Marina in Keyport, New Jersey
Scenic Keyport, NJ is known as “The Pearl of the Bayshore”, it has a walkable historic downtown with many casual bars and restaurants and a bayfront promenade with views to the NY City skyline. Browns Point Marina is on the western edge of downtown, located on a protective cove of Raritan Bay, with easy access to the Bay, NY Harbor, and the Atlantic Ocean. This location offers coastal cruising at its finest! Keyport is easily accessible from Northern and Central NJ via the Garden State Parkway, I-287, Routes 9 and 35.
Browns Point Marina is located 357 W Front St, Keyport, NJ 07735, however you should use the driveway for 341 W Front St, Keyport, NJ 07735 and drive all the way to the end of a long, gravel path/driveway. Parking all the way down the gravel driveway is limited, especially on summer weekends. Alternatively, park out front of 357 W Front Street - to the left of the office, and walk up the driveway.
Mens and Ladies Restrooms are in the building to the right and just behind the main marina office building (out by 357 Front Street). Codes for the door(s) will be supplied by your skipper.
Our slip is on the R Dock. Your skipper will advise what the specific slip number is. From the parking location above you take a short gravel path over a small wooden bridge to the “R” dock. Once you get to the bottom of the ramp turn right to reach Nirvana.
